Date Balls

Bliss bombs, date balls, protein balls, whatever you decide to call them there is one thing for certain…they are delicious! They make a nice healthy after-dinner or any time of day snack!

There are numerous recipes for these out there but to be honest you don’t really need one! The base is simply dates and nuts crushed and combined in a food processor with other ingredients added to alter the flavour such as cacao/cocoa, coconut, vanilla, peanut butter, chia seeds, other dried fruits, peppermint/orange extract…the list goes on!

Below are a couple of combinations I have tried. Please note that I didn’t measure the ingredients when making these so the quantities are a rough guess. You can’t go too wrong – simply add more dates if the mixture is too dry and not sticking together or add more dry ingredients if it is too sticky/wet.

Simply combine the following ingredients in a food processor then roll into balls:

  • Handful of dates
  • Handful of almonds
  • 1tsp cacao (or you could use cocoa)
  • 2tbs peanut butter (I use the no added sugar and salt variety)

Simply combine the following ingredients in a food processor then roll into balls:

  • Handful of dates
  • Handful of almonds
  • 1-2 tbs coconut
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
